Divine Redeemer offers a variety of extra-curricular opportunities. These opportunities change as the availability of volunteers to chair them changes. Offered regularly are: sports, drama, science, STEM, Battle of the Books, and art.
DR offers sports for our 1st -8th graders. We currently offer volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track. We know the value of hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship. We encourage all of our students to participate in a sport because of this. We feel that allowing athletes of all skill levels come together through teamwork is a skill that will serve our students for life. We encourage our community to support our athletes by hosting Spirit Nights at our school for each sport. This builds school spirit as well as gives our students pride in their school community.
DR produces an annual play. This opportunity is offered to students in grades 4-8. Play practice begins in November and runs through mid April until the Spring production. Some of our past plays included Shrek Jr., Singin' in the Rain, Mulan, Lil Mermaid, and Pirates of Penzance, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Fiddler on the Roof, to name a few.
The Science Matters club is offered to students in grades 1-6. This weekly after school club is available as long as there is student interest.
STEM: The STEM club is offered throughout the year to varying grade levels, depending upon student interest. The STEM club focuses its work on programming and robotics and participates in local competitions.
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS:
Battle is offered weekly, during the school day, to interested students in grades 5-8. This club participates in local competitions.
Our after school art club is available to students K-8 and open if we have adequate interest from students.
